Has the Sheen worn off?

Well, he’s back.

Lionsgate television sent out a release today that Charlie Sheen will be back on TV starring in a sitcom called “Anger Management.”

If the title sounds familiar, it’s because there was a 2003 movie with the same name starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. The Wall Street Journal reports that the series, based loosely on the film, will follow  a man forced to attend therapy sessions.

According to the Yahoo! TV Blog, Sheen stated, “I chose ‘Anger Management’ because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept…It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth.”

There is no word yet on who will be co-starring with Sheen.

i can’t for the life of me imagine who would even want to be associated with this train wreck. TARA REID is too good for this foolishness. maybe we can hope that tom cruise signs on, and then tom and charlie’s careers can crawl under a basic cable rock and die once and for all?

I will NOT be watching. Used to love Charlie Sheen…not anymore.

Also, his quote is the best: “…while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues…”

      I. JUST. CAN’T. EVEN. seriously. poor emilio is stuck being “paul abdul’s ex-husband” and “that guy from ‘mighty ducks’ who isn’t on fringe” and charlie still has a potentially serious television career? who is charge around here? willy wonka? (the creepy johnny depp version, not the perfectly fine gene wilder version.)

For the record, I’ve met both Martin Sheen and Emilio – they were at a super early screening of this movie “The Way” that they are both in, which I don’t think has distribution yet – and they are both super nice. Martin posed for a picture with me and then made sure the picture came out nice :) (though the guy who took the pic never emailed it to me … grr … ) and they both seem relatively normal. Haha.
