ALERT | Portable Electric Heaters Recalled

Kaz USA has recalled Honeywell Surround Select portable electric heaters because the “heater’s internal housing, including the fan, heating element and circuitry, can detach, posing a burn hazard to consumers.”

Reported by the CPSC, the black or white cylindrical heaters have model numbers affected are HZ-420, HZ-430, and HZ-440, and have five-digit date codes with  11 as the last two digits. “Honeywell” and “Surround Heat” appear on the front of the heaters.

The heaters were sold at Best Buy, Meijer and Walmart from July through December 2011.

Consumers are urged to unplug the heaters and stop using them immediately.

  1. Many companies try to reduce the costs of their products by outsourcing and contracting low quality suppliers and that’s the results we get. Dangerous products like the portable electric heater from honeywell.
