Ha ha, I LOVE when they exclaim it's a "Sno-mageddon" or "Snopocolyse" a comin'... Of course as a mom that preserves food I'm pretty much always prepared.

Funny thing is, I have always been prepared. When we had that major blackout a few years back, I was one of the few on the block that had water and goods ready to go. I even had to give the next-door-neighbors drinking water for their 4 children since we were on a mandatory boil!

Great post! Well said, gave me a giggle because I know all too well EXACTLY what you are talking about. I have now lived all over the world and have never seen any snow storm come close to the "Blizzard of '78"! However, in all of those places the population reacted the exact same way as our folks in Indiana. The big issue in my house back in 1978 was that my mother was running out of disposable diapers and started putting our towels on my baby sisters bum! Then the worst of the worst....my mom ran out of CIGARETTES! Forget bread and milk, come hell or high SNOW....she was going to get her cigarettes. LOL
