Tassimo Coffee Makers Recalled Due to Burn Hazard

BSH Home Appliances Corp., of Irvine, Calif., has issued a recall of their Tassimo single-cup coffee maker brewers due to burn hazards.

According to the CPSC, the company reports that the plastic inserted disc, or “T Disc,” can spray liquid causing burns.

Currently, 140 incidents have been reported including the brewers spraying hot liquid, coffee grounds or tea leaves onto users. There have also been 37 reports of second-degree burn injuries.

The recall involves Tassimo brewers with the Bosch brand name and Tassimo Professional brewers sold in  black, white, anthracite, gray, silver, red, titanium and white/gray colors with the following information:

The coffee makers were sold online and at various retail locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
