Lori Parrish: General Contributor

My name is Lori (Thomas) Parrish, and I am a 42 yr old soon-to-be single mom of three boys aged Calem 17, Luke 14 and Carter, aka Chap 10. We are all in the process of adjusting to life after divorce, after I made the very hard decision (or easy, depending on how you look at it), to end the marriage.
My boys are my source of inspiration, and motivate me to be the best person I can be. Each are very different, having different personalities and needs. Two of my boys have medical needs that impact our daily life. Calem was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 5. Carter is a bit more complex and is much less predictable in a way. His diagnoses have included Tourette’s Syndrome, OCD, Anxiety Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Aspergers and, the latest, PANDAS.  The last explains away many of the previous diagnoses. Luke, classic middle child, tends to get a little lost in the shuffle between his brothers’ needs, which is a huge source of guilt!
Anyway, I decided to start writing more in the hopes that maybe my experiences in divorce, advocacy, domestic abuse, single parenting of three sons and the associated medical issues may strike a chord and potentially help others finding themselves in similar situations. Or maybe, we can help each other?
