Safety 1st Recalls 1 Million Child Locks

Popular child lock safety company Safety 1st has recalled 1 million child safety locks due to failure to work.

The Push ‘N Snap Safety 1st cabinet locks have 140 reported cases of kids being able to open them after being installed on cabinets.

The CPSC reports that three children have been treated for household cleaner injuries after the locks failed to keep the cabinets closed.

The affected model numbers are 48391 or 48422, which can be found on the back of the lock. The locks were sold through retail stores, including Bed, Bath & Beyond, and online through Amazon.com, between January 2004 and January 2012.

Consumers are instructed to stop using the locks immediately and contact DJG, the importer of the locks, for a replacement. Call DJG toll-free at 866-762-3212.
