Practicing Safe Facebook Posting
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do or post on Facebook can and will be held or used against you…
We might as well get used to it. Facebook matters. Young or old, big or small, people want to know: “What have you been posting on your Facebook page?” Books will be judged by their covers and people will be judged by their Facebook activity. And, don’t believe what they tell you. There’s no such thing as Facebook “privacy.” Once you post something, it’s no longer private. It’s public.

Facebook and Privacy: Is It Possible?
So, what should we do to practice safe posting? Here are some things to keep in mind:
* Beware of the Share. Whatever you post can be shared. Remember that there are about 800 million active Facebook users out there (if not more) … think about it.
* Think you’ll regret it later? If so, DON’T DO IT.
* Can it get you fired? Enough said.
* Religion and Politics …That’s a tough one.
* Labeling Pictures. Is it okay to label them with other people’s first and last names? Wouldn’t you want to be asked first?
* “Liking” Pictures. Remember, when you decide to Like a picture, EVERYONE knows you’ve liked the picture. I often hide others’ “likes” because of my five-year-old looking over my shoulder. KEEP THEM RATED G.
* TMI. Wishing there was a Too Much Information button (Yucky Face)
