More 2013 Spring Fashion Trends for Real Women, Part 2

In part one of the Spring 2013 fashion trends, we gave you four pieces that real moms can wear–not those weird pieces that you see on the runway or on celebs that you could never incorporate into your life. Well, don’t look now, but here are four more pieces that will keep you on trend in 2013, but not put you over the top.

5. Sporty Dresses

These trendy sporty A-line dresses are fun because they’re flirty and sporty–even if you’re not a sports person! You can go casual with canvas shoes or flats or even a little dressy with some wedges. FUN!

6. Stripes! Stripes! and More Stripes!

Bold stripes are back, and the louder the better. And, don’t let people tell you that you can’t wear stripes if you have a few pounds on you. I mean, check out this plus size stripe tunic top. Super cute, right?

7. Leather

Leather is back, too, and it’s not even a 1987 hair-band video! Pick up a pair of pants, or a leather skirt. If you’re feeling bold, don’t be afraid to add a little color with leather pieces in something besides black or brown.

8. Low Heel, Pointy-Toe Shoes

I hear the moms all over the Internet yelling out, “AMEN!” for this one. I mean, sure those super high shoes are hot, but I can’t wear them while running from a business meeting to swim lessons to play dates. It’s just not … functional. Lucky for us, lower heels are back and, to be super trendy, make sure they are pointy. (Bonus points if they’re striped, since that’s another 2013 trend!)

What about you? What’s your favorite new functional trend for Spring 2013?

Hmmm, glad to see the lower heels making a come back, not in agreement about the horizontal stripes. Why can’t they make vertical stripes the “in thing”?
