Hollywood Update, March 15
Here’s your weekly recap of the recent Hollywood happenings:
Hollywood Connections and Splits
Demi Moore recently filed her response to the petition for divorce filed by Ashton Kutcher months ago. In the papers Demi requested spousal support from Ashton. There are tons of rumors about why Demi is seeking spousal support. Some sources say she is upset because Ashton was a bad husband and also because he moved on too quickly with Mila Kunis. Other sources say it is purely strategic to get more money in the settlement. None of it makes sense to me. She has plenty of her own money. Plus it seems unfair to marry someone half your age and then demand compensation when you discover that maybe they weren’t marriage material to begin with.
Hollywood Baby Watch
Holly Madison gave birth to a baby girl on March 5th. She just announced that the baby’s name is Rainbow Aurora Rotella. She said in an interview that she knew a girl named rainbow when she was a kid and she loved the name. Two things about this: 1) The kid you knew named Rainbow more than likely had hippies as parents, and 2) Yes, you loved the name. You where a KID!
Week In Television
Chelsea Handler is known for saying all sorts of mean things about celebrities. In fact, she has made a career out of it. This week Chelsea was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and she made some comments about Angelina Jolie that seem to have ruffled everyone’s feathers. Anyone who watches Chelsea Lately knows that Chelsea is good friends with Jennifer Aniston. Chelsea has called Angelina Jolie a home wrecker many times. On WWHL, Chelsea said Angelina Jolie “seems like a demon.” Based on the media coverage of the comment, everyone thinks Chelsea crossed some sort of line. I think Chelsea has said much worse things about a lot more people and a lot of more important people. I don’t understand the outrage.
Jon Stewart announced that he will be taking a 12-week hiatus from The Daily Show this summer to direct a film that he wrote the screenplay for. The show will continue on for those 12 weeks with John Oliver as the host. I’m happy for Jon Stewart, but he makes the show what it is and it won’t be the same without him.
Celebrity Tidbits & Ramblings
At the Golden Globe Awards this year, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler joked about Taylor Swift jumping from boy to boy and warned her to stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son, who was serving as Mr. Golden Globe. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Taylor Swift was asked about the incident and she replied that Katie Couric had once told her “there’s a special place in Hell for women who don’t help other women.”
What was the most surprising, interesting, shocking or even boring Hollywood tidbit for you recently?
