Why Moms Always Look Like Sh*t

Why do moms always look like sh*t?

As a stay-at-home/work-at-home/homeschooling mom, I have one uniform: yoga pants, comfortable shirt and ponytail. Actually, when I talk to other moms, this seems to be a pretty typical mom uniform. It’s easy and comfortable as we run around through the day (or even running around after we change out of our business suit).

Many people make fun of the momiform (see what I did right there?). You always hear about people poking fun at our yoga pants or making comments about our ponytail. Even my 6 year old has started to make comments about my ever present ponytail. “Mommy, I really love your hair down,” she says several times a week as I pull my hair into a pony.

So, I started thinking. I mean, it’s almost like people think us moms just hang out in our yoga pants and ponytails because we’re too lazy to get ourselves together. This couldn’t be further from the truth. So, I decided to set the record straight. The real reason why moms always look like shit.

Pretty much sums up my typical day! Everyone else is in bed, and I am still up. Packing lunch. Checking homework, behavior charts, and cleaning out the TON of paperwork from my kindergartener’s backpack so I can fit his lunch box BACK in to his backpack. Bedtime hours after the rest of the household has shut down.
The “dry shampoo” is my secret in not making EVERY day a ponytail day! It makes my bedhead look INTENTIONAL.
You’re welcome for the beauty tip. Lol
