5 Homemade Sugar and Salt Scrub Recipes

Every woman wants smooth, baby soft skin. And we spend a lot of time, and money, trying to achieve this goal. But here’s a little secret… Beautiful skin doesn’t have to cost a lot of money or take a lot of time. You can make your own personal care products for a fraction of what they cost in stores.

A great scrub is a must for any skincare regimen. It removes dull, dry skin, and allows your skin to absorb moisture more easily. Making your own scrub is very inexpensive, simple, and takes just a few minutes. The other great thing about making your own is that it is all-natural, and you can customize it to your needs and liking. There are so many possibilities!

What Makes a Sugar Scrub?

No matter which scrub you’re wanting to make, every scrub is made with these basic ingredients. Two parts sugar or sea salt, one part oil, and vitamin E. Crazy easy, right? What’s wonderful is that there are no limits to how you can make a scrub your own!

Sugar – It’s no secret that sugar is not the healthiest for your body, but it is good for your skin! Sugar removes dead skin cells, cleans dirt from pores, helps maintain oil balance, and helps to protect the skin from toxins. It’s also very gentle, making it an excellent choice for skincare. If you find regular sugar granules too rough, brown sugar is an excellent choice as well.

Sea salt – Natural sea salt exfoliates your skin, aids circulation, and relaxes and soothes.

Oil – There are many to choose from. I personally use almond oil because of its light scent. Other great choices are grapeseed, olive, safflower, or sesame.

Scents – Essential oils not only smell wonderful, but they also have many health benefits.
